🎀 Live appearances

Put a real robot on your stage.

Droid is one of our Meckies, in his robot vehicle. He opens shows, delivers scripted keynote bits, demos live navigation and conversation, and banters with your hosts on cue. Eva works your front desk while he works the room.

The double act

Two Meckies, two jobs.

One takes the stage. One takes the door.

On stage

Droid: Keynote & Field Correspondent

A scripted opening bit, producer-cued from a phone, no on-the-fly improv gambles, performed the way a person would rehearse it. Then the live part: he finds people, drives to marks, routes around your furniture, and answers questions in his own voice.

  • Scripted opener or keynote segment, rehearsed to your run of show
  • Live demos: come-here, follow, navigation around real obstacles
  • Big-screen feeds: his camera eye, live map, robot's-eye telemetry
  • Host banter on "over to you, Droid" cues

Front of house

Eva: Front Desk Helper

Eva greets your guests as they arrive: check-in charm, directions, event questions, and the first "wait, is that a robot?" moment of the day, before anyone reaches their seat.

  • Guest greeting and event Q&A at your entrance
  • Photo moments. Guests love the front-desk selfie.
  • Keeps the lobby warm while the main act sets up
Pricing

School Keynote: education & nonprofit
$2,000

The full keynote for schools and nonprofits, travel included within 100 miles of Wichita (beyond that, travel at cost). Where scheduling allows, we add an afternoon classroom or club visit, a robotics club or a CS class, at no extra charge.

Standard packages plus travel expenses and battery shipping, billed at cost: mileage or freight for the robots, batteries drop-shipped to your venue, lodging, and venue setup time. Final quotes scale with segment length, script complexity, and rehearsal needs.

The battery logistics, solved two ways. Lithium batteries are the one part of a robot that's a hazmat headache to ship. For regional events we simply drive from Wichita, Kansas. The robots arrive tested, charged, and ready. Farther out, the robots travel battery-free (which makes freight easy), and fresh batteries are drop-shipped to your venue ahead of the event and installed at setup. Either way, no crate full of regulatory paperwork, just a robot that turns on.
Community Visits

One classroom a month, for the cost of gas.

Once a month we bring a Meckie to one K-12 classroom, Scout troop, or youth group for travel costs only. It is a shorter, classroom-scale visit, not the full keynote: the robot, the questions, the wonder. One visit each month, and the slot goes by application.

September's visit is spoken for. We are opening the Wichita tech showcase on September 14, and it is open to the public: come meet Droid in person at Groover Labs, 334 N. St. Francis, Wichita, 12:00 to 1:30 PM. Registration is free at luma.com/kcvy4czy. Applications below are for October onward.

How a booking works

Three weeks ahead. Six beyond Wichita.

Book at least 3 weeks ahead within driving range of Wichita, 6 weeks beyond it. The lead time is the act: every appearance is scripted and rehearsed to your run of show, and farther events add robot freight and battery delivery windows.
