What we collect

Only what you choose to give us, and here it all is:

• Your email address, if you sign up for news, or if the Meckie on this page asks for it and you hand it over.
• Whatever you type to the Meckie chatbot. The messages you send it so it can answer you. If you turn on the microphone, the audio you speak to it as well. The mic is off until you allow it.
• Anonymous analytics, the kind any site sees: pages viewed, rough location, device type, and which parts of a tour you clicked. A random visitor id ties those together for the visit.

We do not ask for your name, a password, or a payment.

How we use it

We use your email to tell you about Meckie. We write once to confirm, then only when there is real news. What you say to the Meckie chatbot is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate the reply, and we may keep a log of those conversations to make the Meckie better. We do not sell, rent, or share any of it. Ask us and we will delete what we have.

Where your Meckie thinks

This matters more than the website, and it is a different thing from the chatbot above. Your own Meckie runs on a home server you own. Its memory, identity, senses, and voice stay in your house. Ordinary internet still works like any device: the email it sends, the music it plays, the apps you ask for. Builds and heavier thinking go to a GPU in Wichita, Kansas. Cloud escalation happens only if you turn it on, off by default. We can back up your Meckie to the cloud so you never lose it, but only if you turn that on. Your household is never quietly harvested or sold.

Cookies and local storage

We keep cookies minimal: what the site needs to work and what analytics needs to count a visit. The chatbot keeps a few things in your browser only, on your device: your visitor id, whether you allowed the microphone, and your recent chat so it does not lose its place. No ad networks follow you off our site.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email we send. You can ask us to delete your email address and any chatbot conversation we have logged, and we will. The microphone stays off until you allow it, and you can turn it back off. You are never signed up for anything you did not ask for.
